Short for available bit rate, or Class Cquality of service, an ATMbandwidth-allocation service that adjusts the amount of bandwidth based on the amount of traffic in the network. ABR service provides a guaranteed minimum bandwidth capacity but allows data to be bursted at higher capacities when the network is free.
