Short for Ethernet over Plastic Optical Fibre, EoPOF is used in home and office
network cabling. Ethernet over Plastic Optical Fibre uses optical wave guiding
to transmit data between devices. Because EoPOF cables are made of plastic, they
can be easily cut with scissors, and there is no need to terminate copper cables
or polish glass optical fiber. In addition to ease of use and installation,
EoPOF cables are also immune to electromagnetic interference and are cheaper than
optical fiber.
