Short for Internal BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), iBGP is the protocol used between the routers in the same autonomous system (AS). IBGP is used to provide information to your internal routers. See also BGP.
Internal BGP is a mechanism to provide more information to your internal routers. The Border Gateway Protocol is the routing protocol of the Internet. BGP itself isn.t too complex, but the concepts behind autonomous-system-based routing can be strange to newcomers.
